Sitting Pretty...

The last few weeks have shown incredible development for Thomas Jake. Since turning 6 months old on December 22nd, his world has changed drastically. His menu now consists of sweet potato, squash, carrots, peas, green beans, peaches, pears and banana. We’ll be adding apples, blueberries and chicken and other meats in the weeks ahead. He eats these yummies, blended with mixed-grain cereal (pablum) twice a day — at lunch, and with us at suppertime. He devours about 1/2 cup in less than 5 minutes, so the rest of our time at the dinner table is spent appeasing him with baby rice crackers and Cheerios, for which he has quickly perfected his pincer grasp!

Also new to Jake is the ability to sit up on his own, and play independently with small toys. Here’s a video [2.9 MB] taken just this morning, of TJ playing with one of Quinn’s favourite toddler toys, the Fisher Price Farm. He sat there for about 15 minutes on his own, while I prepared Quinn for school. Amazing...
