Quinn has been watching a lot of MythBusters lately. We all love the show, and the incredibly fascinating lengths to which the team with go to BUST or CONFIRM a myth.
Last night, Quinn was describing to me a particular episode where Adam and Jamie were evaluating the myth of “Beer Goggles”—the phenomenon which occurs when one consumes more than enough drink to make anyone of the opposite sex more desirable. Or, I suppose, the same sex as well. Regardless, the myth was deemed “Plausible”. As Quinn was relaying the diagnosis to me, he kept saying “Possible”. And the rest of the conversation went like this:
Quinn: “They decided it was possible.”
Andrew: “Plausible.”
Quinn: “No, POSS-ible.”
Andrew: “No, they say PLAUS-ible on the show.”
Quinn: “Well, what does PLAUS-ible mean?“
Andrew, after a great pause: “Possible.”
We all had a good laugh at the ridiculousness of the last two minutes of conversation.
